Part of Edinburgh’s city bypass has remained closed for several hours as emergency services continue to deal with a collision on the outskirts of the capital.
Police Scotland say that they were called to a crash on the bypass at around 4.20pm on Wednesday March 22 and that other emergency services had responded at the scene.
Traffic Scotland have released several updates stating that the road is currently closed eastbound from the Gogar roundabout to Hermiston Gait.

Their latest post stated that the road remained closed as of 7.20pm and it was advised that motorists avoid the route.
It is not known if any injuries were sustained during the crash but emergency services are understood to remain in attendance at the site of the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance on the A720, Edinburgh City Bypass following a crash.
“Police were contacted to attend at around 4.20pm on Wednesday, 21 March, 2023 and emergency services remain at the scene.
“The road is currently closed eastbound from the Gogar roundabout to Hermiston Gait.”
