Scotland is bracing itself for a big freeze, as an Arctic plume is set to hit the UK - bringing frosty temperatures of -15C in just over a week.
The plume is set to push eastward with a WXCharts map forecasting that that Edinburgh will see heavy snowfall by Monday, March 6.
The Met Office has noted that there is a likelihood of "disruptive" snow showers that may occur during March, reports the Daily Star, with sub-zero temperatures and wintry showers expected on March 8.

Netweather's forecast states that between March 6 and March 12, large areas of the UK will be affected by some unsettled weather conditions.
The forecast reads: "It is likely that much of north-western Britain, particularly western Scotland, north-west England and Northern Ireland, will stay largely dry regardless, although coastal sleet/snow showers are possible even in these regions if the northerlies hit Britain directly."
Edinburgh will experience colder weather and low temperatures this weekend, with lows of 0C happening by Monday, March 6. Over the weekend, there will be highs of 8C, with overcast weather and little breakthrough of sun throughout Saturday and Sunday.
While there will be highs of 8C, it will feel more like 5C according to forecasters, with a 10 per cent chance of rain as well.
In the Met Office's UK long range weather forecast, starting on March 4, meteorologists have said that snow is a possibility.
They said: "Colder air may ingress into northern and eastern areas at times, perhaps bringing wintry showers, with a low probability that these snow showers may become more widespread.
"Later in the period there is an increasing chance of it turning more unsettled, possibly bringing snow at times. Temperatures likely to be generally below average.
"Some wintry episodes may be disruptive due to the potential combination of snow and strong winds."

Most dry but a few light showers across the east. Mainly cloudy with best of clear spells focused across Dumfries and Galloway. Winds light, mainly northerly. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Wednesday's forecast
Similar to Tuesday, mainly cloudy with a light showers in the east. Light northerly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday
Relatively settled with occasional sunshine, while rainfall is likely to be restricted to isolated, light showers around the east coast. Winds light mainly from the north.
