Edinburgh Airport shares update amid 'busy period' and issues security advice

Edinburgh Airport has shared an update to passengers amid what it called a "busy period".

With July in full swing, people from across Scotland will be heading off on holiday.

As a result, there has been a major increase in foot traffic at Edinburgh Airport.

The airport has therefore reminded travellers that "all staff are working hard" and to "be kind" to them.

It also shared a tip for passengers with hair products to ensure they move through security as quickly as possible.

Taking to its official Facebook account, Edinburgh Airport wrote: "Let's flysafe! The airport is going through a busy period and all staff are working hard to ensure passengers are travelling safely and securely.

"Please remember to be kind - we're all in this together."

In a separate post, it also stated: "For the beauty queens out there! You do not need to take your hair straighteners/hairdryers out at security.

"Sashay on through and keep them safe in your hand luggage!"

Earlier this week, Edinburgh Airport released an updated car park guide, detailing the differences between them and how passengers can get to get to each one.
