Edinburgh Airport sees Swiss Air Force choppers fly in before 'training' over city

Plane spotters at Edinburgh Airport were impressed after a number of Swiss Air Force choppers flew onto a capital runway - before heading to 'train' over city.

Three dark military green helicopters were seen at the airport with Swiss Airforce labelled on the side - an unusual visitor to the city.

After being spotted a source told Edinburgh Live: "They're up for some training and doing possible low level flying" which could explain why a number of the aircrafts were travelling low over the centre of town.

The three choppers were also spotted on Wednesday afternoon as well flying low near Edinburgh Castle in the Royal Mile area.

Edinburgh Airport confirmed the choppers were landing at the airport but did not have any more information.

In the video you can see four of the helicopters flying across the city centre of town, descending lower as they get closer to the Castle.
