Jet2 have launched to Santorini for the first time at the capital's airport in celebration of their new summer 2022 routes.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays waved off the flight on Thursday (May 26) from the base with the inaugural flight to Santorini said to follow a first flight to Skiathos which took off today (May 27).
These flights will then be followed by the companies’ inaugural flights to Izmir on Saturday (May 28) and Preveza on May 29.

The busy flight schedule marks the start of the leading leisure airline and UK’s leading tour operator to many destinations across the Mediterranean, including Greece, operating weekly Thursday services to the stunning Greek island from Edinburgh Airport this summer taking place now until October 27.
The start of services to these popular Greek and Turkish destinations from the base comes in response to strong demand from local customers and independent travel agents for Summer 22 flights and holidays.
The addition of Santorini, Skiathos, Izmir and Preveza to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ Summer 22 programme from Edinburgh Airport means the companies are operating to nine Greek destinations from the base this summer – Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Preveza, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Halkidiki and Zante and four Turkish destinations - Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir.
As well as Santorini, the full breakdown of the Summer 22 programme to Skiathos, Izmir and Preveza from Edinburgh Airport is as follows:
- Skiathos: Weekly Friday services operating from May 27 to September 30
- Preveza: Weekly Sunday services operating from May 29 to October 23
- Izmir: Weekly Saturday services operating from May 28 to October 22
