Eddie Howe has reflected on Newcastle United's 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
The Toon boss watched on as his side climbed into fourth place in the top-flight thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson. Spurs fought back through Harry Kane but could not find an equaliser.
Howe said: "It was a big win. We were determined to come here and be positive and it was a great display from us. We deserved the win.
"My players deserve all the credit for how we attack the game. We executed the game plan really well. It wasn't without problems - they have world-class players. They had a few long-range shots and dangerous counter-attacks early on. Once we solved that we were OK."
And when asked about the £200m transfer spend, Howe said: "The problem is if you associate with money it takes away credit from the players. A lot of them were here anyway.
"Credit the players for the performance, don't look at how the team were put together. There is a long way to go. Very tight division. We're enjoying the moment but we won't get ahead of ourselves. We'll try to win. I'm sure people will talk us up but I don't want to put any external pressure on my players."
