Eddie Howe says Newcastle United's draw at Wolves will be 'eye opener' for Alexander Isak

Eddie Howe believes that Alexsander Isak got a great taste of life in the Premier League during the 1-1 draw at Wolves.

Unable to play because he is yet to receive a work permit, Isak watched on from the stands. Howe should now be able to alert him at Liverpool in midweek.

Howe said: “I think it would have been an eye-opener, it was a very physical game.

‘If I am looking at it through his eyes, I would be excited about the chances created. He will have to contribute to the game in a physical way.”

Howe is delighted with the signing after it was confirmed on Friday. But it came too late for him to get international clearance.

Howe added: “Strikers are always judged on their goal output and their creativity so we hope he makes a difference.

“He is a linker of play as well, not just a goalscorer and will contribute to all aspects of our play so I am excited.”
