Eddie Howe remains on red alert when it comes to Carabao Cup final tormentor Marcus Rashford.
The England striker has now trained with the main group of players at Manchester United after nursing a knock during the international break. Rashford was withdrawn from international duty and missed England's wins over Italy and Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Rashford started the week in light training but Eric ten Hag has refused to rule him out of Sunday's game. Howe has respect for Rashford and says Newcastle have a plan either way.

Howe told Chronicle Live: "Certainly he is a hugely talented player. We need to be aware that if he plays he has real strengths.
"He can give us problems if we don't defend them well enough. We will be aware of him but as I say if he doesn't play they have others who can come in and do equally as good a job."
One star that will definitely miss the encounter at St James' Park will be Brazil and former Real Madrid ace Casemiro. But again Howe knows that Man United can still fill his boots despite a suspension keeping him at home this weekend.
Howe said: "He is a world class player. So I am sure he is a miss for them. But they have world class players to take his place."
