Eddie Howe's rallying call to Newcastle United supporters for biggest week in recent history

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has sent a rallying call to the Toon Army ahead of the biggest week in recent history at St James' Park.

With Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City up next on Tyneside, two victories would guarantee a place in the Champions League for Howe and his squad. Both games are sold out and a raucous atmosphere will be guaranteed under the lights with United's fanbase as together and strong as ever.

It really is up for grabs now for the Magpies and Howe knows it. Looking ahead to the two games, Howe said: "We go into those two games with belief we can get the job done but it’s never that easy, and that showed at Elland Road.

"Leeds, with a new manager and style of play that is very difficult to play against, and a crowd that were in the game made it a really tough match for us."

Newcastle have only been beaten by Liverpool and Arsenal at St James' Park this season. Howe said: "Every time we play at home is an opportunity to win because of the conditions, the arena, the support, the confidence.

"We’ve done really well at home this season. We love to play there."
