Eddie Howe admits he must get the balance right with his Newcastle United transfer business going into the January window.
Last winter, United signed Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes, Matt Targett and Chris Wood. But this time around the urgency levels are lower, and Howe knows that he won't get a free hit when it comes to finances.
Howe said: "We are in a very different position to where we were last year. We knew we needed to add good numbers to get through the door to try to lift the group.
"Now we are in a different position, we are also in a different position with FFP to what we were last year. Where we didn't have a legacy of transfer fees, we had a gap there that we could attack. But we are in a different position now."

The Magpies though may have one or two departures in January with some fringe players already linked with the exit door.
Howe added: "You have to be very careful when you are in my position that you don't do something that unsettles the group. You also have to be mindful of the fact you don't want a group that is stale.
"Getting that balance right is crucial. I will try to make those decisions. As I have said FFP does play a part in this."
