Eddie Howe reveals Allan Saint-Maximin fitness update and why Elliot Anderson was missing

Eddie Howe says that Allan Saint-Maximin has suffered a minor setback in his comeback from a hamstring injury. The boss also stated he was not close to making a return against AFC Bournemouth on a day in which he was badly missed during a 1-1 draw.

Speaking after the game Howe said it was still “unclear” when the winger would be back - despite a two week international break upon us.

After the game Howe said: “There's a massive hole for someone like Maxi in a game like this when you need a little magic to unlock the door."

Howe was unhappy with the performance and added: “That’s below the levels we set ourselves. “For the first time this season those levels dipped. We were off with every aspect of our game. Big sense of frustration.”

Meanwhile, Howe has also revealed why Elliot Anderson was missing against the Cherries. He said: “Very minor niggle, he’ll be fit, fine, for the next game.”
