Eddie Howe has praised his side for showing patience in the big win over Aston Villa.
United finally grabbed the lead after a testing opening 45 minutes against Villa as Callum Wilson converted from the spot.
Howe said afterwards: “The first goal is so important in any game. Today we got it, probably from our best move of the half to be honest, and the second half was totally different.”

Howe felt his side showed after the break exactly what they can do.
He added: “That’s the football and the style that we want to see on a consistent basis here. I stood back and enjoyed the second half. I thought we were really good.”
When asked if Newcastle could make the Champions League, Howe said: “That’s an outrageous question. We’re just happy where we are. We’re trying to win every game. I’ll let you write the headlines.”
