Eddie Howe has praised Chris Wood after his winner at Tranmere Rovers in the League Cup. The New Zealand international netted after the break at Prenton Park as United fought to come back from behind.
After watching Wood from the start for the first time this season, Howe said: “Chris Wood has performed really well since he's joined us. It's great for us to see. His movement is very good.”
The game turned when Kieran Trippier came off the bench to replace Emil Krafth who was injured in the first half.

Howe said: “We ideally wanted to protect Trippier but you know the difference he can make and he's won us the game with those two deliveries. Also how we defended the set-pieces too - that's just as pleasing as the attacking ones.
"We know that responsibility is on our shoulders. We were desperate to go through. We want to take every game with the same seriousness and we will try to win everything we compete in."
