Eddie Hearn claims Tyson Fury is "out of control" over Dillian Whyte no-show

Eddie Hearn has claimed that Tyson Fury is "out of control" as he continues to promote the show largely on his own due to Dillian Whyte's absence.

Fury flew solo at Tuesday's press conference to promote his heavyweight title defence against Whyte at Wembley on April 23.

Whyte failed to show up for the face-to-face event and has remained silent after being left unsatisfied with terms of the contract.

Hearn has claimed Whyte was not treated with respect in the run-up to the press conference but has declared he has no involvement in any further negotiations.

" Dillian Whyte in my opinion was not treated with respect," Hearn told the MMA Hour. "I never told him not to attend the press conference at all.

Tyson Fury spoke about Dillian Whyte's absence at the press conference (PA)

"He has certain obligations under that purse bid scenario and right now he is training and preparing for a massive fight but I am not involved in that respect. That is down to his lawyers to sort out.

" Tyson Fury can say what he wants but I wouldn't tell someone to not attend a press conference. Whether there is mind games from Dillian Whyte, I do think it is interesting to see Fury out of control; they don't really know what they are doing here.

"Maybe it is mind games from Dillian I don't know but he is going to do his own thing quite frankly. He would never do what I tell him to do anyway, he is his own man but I don't think it is too much to ask to bring him in a way that doesn't cause any delays to the fight."

Hearn has admitted he now has no say over Whyte's decisions regarding the fight but is there to advise him if called upon.

Fury has frequently beckoned Whyte into engaging with him to promote their rivalry ahead of the fight, but his efforts have fallen on deaf ears.

The 'Gypsy King' has been long-term rivals with Whyte as the pair have frequently exchanged verbal jabs on social media, but his no-show could cast doubts over the future of the fight.

However the WBC champion believes it shows his opponent has already raised the "white flag" and is ready to promote the show on his own.

"I'm not concerned because this is the Tyson Fury roadshow, it's never about the opponent," Fury said. "He's ugly anyway, this is about me and celebrating my legacy and celebrating it on the biggest stage possible.

"It doesn't matter who it is, it's always going to be the Tyson Fury roadshow. He's definitely raised the white flag for this fight. He doesn't want to go face to face because he would see the fire in my eyes and know he's getting smashed to bits.

"It's fear, it's terror and I don't blame him for not being here today."
