Eddie Hall willing to have Thor Bjornsson's name tattooed on his back after defeat

Eddie Hall admitted in sparring footage ahead of his fight with Thor Bjornsson that he would have his rival's name tatooed on his back in the event he lost.

And unfortunately for the former world's strongest man winner, it looks like he may have to go through with the inking after being floored twice on his way to a defeat by unanimous decision in Dubai in Saturday night.

The British strongman landed some massive blows of his own throughout the six round contest but was unable to keep up the pace for the whole 18 minutes.

The pair, who have shared a bitter rivalry dating back to the 2017 world's strongest man tournament in which Hall defeated Bjornsson, agreed that the loser of their bout would have to be inked with the winner's name.

The stunt was first run by Jake Paul back last year when he faced Tyron Woodley, with the former UFC champion getting a hand tattoo after losing a split decision. And Hall told cruiserweight prospect Viddal Riley after the pair shared a sparring session back in November that if he lost to Bjornsson he would be getting his rival's name emblazoned on his back.

"If you're watching this after the fight, hopefully you enjoy what's been going on," he said in a YouTube video that was uploaded yesterday. "I've been hiding all this time so if I lose then I've done everything I can and I'll have a tattoo of Thor on my back, life is life."

The Icelander, for his part, has said that he would gladly rematch Hall after the pair put on an impressive showing in what was the Brit's debut. "He wants a rematch and I am definitely willing to do a rematch if he keeps his word," Bjornsson said in a post-fight interview on his YouTube channel. "So he has to get a tattoo on his body which says me as World's Strongest Man on his body. Then he has to give me $200,000.

"Then I pick a charity which I will announce on my social media, if he keeps his word you know which I hope he does then one hundred per cent we will do it. If he really wants a rematch then he will. It was an agreement we made between me and Eddie, I think that giving to charity is a no-brainer he actually wanted to give all his money to charity.

"I have huge respect for that but I am actually not sure he will get a tattoo. I truly doubt that he will so in reality I don't think the rematch will ever happen because I can't see that happening. If he doesn't get a tattoo there will no be rematch and I am not going to hold him down and say 'get a tattoo'."
