Ed Sheeran is the biggest name in pop music – and now he’s planning to take on the likes of Findus in the ready meals department.
The singer has applied to trademark his new Teddy Bear logo under three different classifications, which includes meals and snacks, sauces and clothing.
Ed moved into the food industry a few years ago, opening up the Notting Hill pub Bertie Blossoms, near his £20million home in West London which is currently being renovated.
The 31-year-old is nicknamed ‘Teddy’ by friends and family, and has a teddy bear tattoo on his right arm.
The pop star has also admitted: “I have a load of childish stuff in my house. There’s a room full of teddy bears.”
The food move follows his collaboration with Heinz on a special ‘Edchup’ tomato sauce in 2019 after he jokingly mentioned the firm in an Instagram post.
In the past, Ed has opened up in numerous interviews about loving junk food. But he admitted that his love of burgers and booze left him in a dark place on tour.
He said in 2020: “I see no point in having a glass of wine. I’d rather have two bottles. Having a glass of wine is having something in moderation and probably isn’t going to affect your day the next day. But two bottles of wine probably might make you quite sad.
“They used to call me two-dinner Teddy because I would order two meals and eat that. Then you start putting on loads of weight and hating the way you look.”
