Disney+ is set to drop a brand-new documentary exploring the life of global superstar Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All will see the Shape of You singer open the doors to a definitive and searingly honest view into his private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music.
The four-part series follows Ed after he learns of life-changing news and reveals his hardships and triumphs during the most challenging period of his life. It comprises exclusive, never-before-seen footage and authentic interviews with his wife and loved ones, plus intimate performances in cinematic locations.
Speaking to Disney ahead of the series launch, Ed said: “I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting. Disney approached me to make a documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in.”

The docuseries will also feature the late music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards, who helped the star in the early days of his career and died last year aged 31. The Sum of It All will premiere on May 3, ahead of the launch of Ed’s new album, “ - ” (pronounced “Subract”), two days later, and will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the record.

Fans will be able to binge the new documentary as all four episodes will be available to stream at the same time around the world. UK viewers can watch The Sum of It All when it drops on Disney+ on Wednesday, May 3 at 8am.
