Ed Sheeran surprised a busker covering his new song on the subway when he asked if he could duet with him.
Mike Yung, 62, went viral in 2016 with a video of him singing The Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody, but got the shock of his life when the flame-haired singer, 32, rocked up on the platform.
The busker, who appeared on America's Got Talent in 2018, had been regaling commuters in New York with his version of Eyes Closed when Ed asked if he could sing along.
The duo harmonised beautifully with Ed stopping at times to let Mike continue.
After telling the star he'd 'made his day', the busker was in for another shock when Ed produced two tickets to his Brooklyn show, where he performed his new album Subtract in full for the first time in America.
Mike shared snaps of the tickets before posting a photo of himself at the show with Ed singing Eyes Closed as the audience watched, enthralled.
The star's show at the Kings Theater was a huge deal Ed, who started his career busking.
Posting a video of fans sharing their reaction to the US gig on Instagram, he said: "Played Subtract again in full last night, first time on USA soil. It was emotional, but electric, I loved it. Thank you all so much for coming, less than a month now to release, I can’t wait."
One fan said the concert was "probably the most incredible experience of my life,' while another said it was, "such an intimate experience, which you normally don't get with an artist of his stature."
Another added the crowd was "really listening to what he [Ed] was saying."
The star recently opened up about how another of the album's tracks, Salt Water, was inspired by one of the 'darkest nights' of his life.
In a heartfelt video on Instagram, Ed said: "Salt Water is quite a dark song, it's basically playing out what the final moments would be jumping into cold salt water and feeling at 3 to 4 degrees that you're free."
Fans reacted to the post and took to the comment section, with some saying the album will break their hearts.
One follower predicted: "I feel like Subtract will be the album to smash my heart into a million pieces then slowly put it back together again."
