Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has honoured his late friend Jamal Edwards by penning and recording a heartfelt song dedicated to the music producer.
The Shape Of You hitmaker, 31, was left devastated after Jamal passed away in February after suffering a heart attack at the age of 31.
Ed was left devastated when British music mogul Jamal passed away after he helped launch the singer's incredibly succesful career.
And in a touching gesture following Jamal's sad death, Ed has gathered the late music producers nearest and dearest to record the music video to his new song dedicated to the late star.
Ed asked Jamal's mum and Loose Women star, Brenda Edwards, to be a part of the video more than two months on from her son's death.
Jamal's his sister Tanisha is also set to be a part of the video for the special track.
In pictures obtained by The Sun, Ed could be seen at a venue in Soho, central London, for the shoot.
The singer was joined by US musician Russ, actors Rafferty Law and Tom Felton, and rapper Big Narstie.
A source told the publication that it was an incredibly emotional affair.
“Ed looked in good spirits when he arrived but it was a sombre occasion and things got very emotional on set. Ed wanted to do something to celebrate Jamal’s incredible legacy because he was a huge part of his life," they told.
“Brenda wore all black and had sunglasses on as she arrived. It was really brave of her to get involved after such a loss, but she knows how close Ed and Jamal were and so it felt poignant to be part of it," the insider added.
Following the news of Jamal's tragic death in February, Ed took to Instagram to pay tribute to his friend.
At the time, the singer penned: "Jamal is my brother. His light shone so bright. He only used it to illuminate others and never asked for anything in return.
"A star’s light shines for millions of years after they go, and his will continue to light up every dark moment. I would not be here without him, professionally and personally. There will never be anything close to what he is.”
