Ed Sheeran fans travel for 16 hours from Mexico to see Cardiff gig

As Ed Sheeran fever takes over Cardiff, the global superstar will be performing in the Principality Stadium on Thursday, May, 26, Friday, May, 27, and Saturday, May, 27, and some fans have already begun queuing. To get the best spot some fans arrived at the stadium very early.

This includes Camila Alor, Arturo Lozano Cantu, Alejandro Alor, and Paola Alor who have flown across the Atlantic Ocean and queued since 6.30am to make sure they grab the best spot. The family and friends are from Mexico City and have travelled especially from Mexico to Cardiff to see Ed Sheeran perform.

Still in great spirits at 8.30am the group is very excited to see Ed. Alejandro said: "Me and my sister we know all the songs...we love Ed Sheeran, he is my favourite artist...I am a huge fan. The lyrics of his songs are very nice, I like them. I also like that he plays solo with his guitar, I think that is nice."

Camila added: "We are super excited, we have been waiting for ten months." The trip cost them around £1,200 pounds each, with the flights alone costing £900, and it took them ten hours to fly from Mexico City to London. They had a three hour wait before a three hour bus journey to Cardiff, arriving at midnight.

After a quick sleep at the hotel they were back out, queuing outside the stadium at 6.30am. Alejandro became a fan of Ed Sheeran first, listening to him in the car and around the house, which is how Camila also became a fan. And now they have been waiting outside the Principality Stadium since 6.30am, in slightly chilly conditions, to make sure they have the best time.

Speaking about the queuing so far Camila said it was "very cold" and described their mammoth journey to Cardiff as "long". All aged between 18 and 20 the group had been joined by some other fans also queueing for the concert.

This is the first time the group is seeing Ed perform live and also their first time in Cardiff. After the concert, they will be heading out of the UK and to Milan to do some sightseeing. You can get all the What's On news to your inbox by signing up to our newsletter here.
