A new fighter is all set to join the fray and it's one who's more than ready to sting like a Psycho-powered bee. Prepare to go head-to-head when the formidable boxer Ed arrives in Street Fighter 6 this February 27. He becomes the 21st playable character to be added to the roster and available in all three game modes which are World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub.
To get you started, the "Ed Arrives!" Fighting Pass is also now live though only for a limited time. On February 28, Ed is unlocked for those who own the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition. Ed's Outfit 2, which is inspired by his Story Outfit from Street Fighter V, is also going to be available once he arrives.
A gameplay trailer focusing on Ed has been released which you can watch below:
The Boxer Returns
Ed first made his appearance in Street Fighter V and was introduced as someone who reject the evil intentions of M. Bison. After escaping from the Shadaloo organization, he created his own group called as Neo Shandaloo to help others like him. In this latest title, his attacks have been changed in that they're now all punches. Being the initial inspiration when it comes to Modern Controls, Ed retains his simplified controls while at the same time get expanded inputs for his Classic Controls.
Here are some of Ed's moves:
- Psycho Flicker
- A quick flicker jab from a distance that can go in one of three directions to catch the opponent off-guard.
- Vital to Ed's ability to control space.
- If you hold the button down, Ed uses his Psycho Snatcher from Street Fighter V where he can pull in opponents with psycho-powered tendrils
- Psycho Blitz
- Releases a series of punches cloaked in Psycho Power.
- Psycho Storm
- Ed's Level 1 Super Art sees him striking opponents with a series of high-speed flicker jabs
- Psycho Cannon
- Ed's Level 2 Super Art, previously from Street Fighter V, generates a multi-hitting ball of psycho power that moves forward.
- Psycho Chamber
- Ed's Level 3 Super Art turns opponents into his own personal punching bag by tying together their hands and feet and pummeling them in the name of Neo Shadaloo.
Excited to try out Ed? Street Fighter 6 is available for the PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
