An ecstatic dad burst through his son's bedroom door claiming he had won £75,000 on the lottery - only to then realise he'd made a mistake.
CCTV footage taken inside Michael Mirelez’s home in Arlington, Texas shows the moment the dad started jumping in joy as he held the winning ticket in his hand.
He started shouting: "Nico, Nico I've won a hundred thousand dollars.
"I won a hundred thousand dollars.
"I won a hundred thousand dollars."
His son Nicholas Mirelez - Nico for short - jumped out of his bed and hugged his father.
Nico could be heard saying: "Don't tell nobody."
But their joy was short lived, as his dad soon realised he had read the numbers wrong.
Distraught, Michael said : "This is my number 46... Oh f***k God damn it. I lied.
Crying and holding his face Michael falls on the bed as his son moves to comfort him.
The video has racked up over over 6 million views and over 900,000 likes since it was shared online.
Nicolas later said: "My dad deserves a big break.
"He cried after but now he's laughing at himself watching the video over and over.
Online, many people rallied behind the father and son.
Mike Durtra said: "My heart broke when he realised it was wrong."
Vic Blends said: "I wanted him to win."
While another added: "bro the rollercoaster of emotions I felt through that... I can't imagine how you all felt."
