A new ministerial advisory board providing wide-ranging expertise and support to Economy Minister Vaughan Gething has been revealed.
Chair of the Economic Ministerial Advisory Board, is Andrew Campbell a professor of practice in tourism at the University of Wales Trinity St David.
Along with formulating advice and presenting it to ministers, board members will discuss policy ideas and act as a sounding board for future policy development.
Other members of the board are:
Andrea Wayman, who as deputy chair brings a wealth of expertise from the employment, training and equalities sector.
Professor Sir Adrian Webb has held numerous senior roles in local and central government, as well as the third sector.
Ifan Peredur Morgan, who represents Wales on the Bank of England’s Youth Forum and has experience in the banking and technology sectors.
Helen Swift, who has professional background in international affairs, aerospace, defence and cyber security policy issues
James Davies , who has 30 years of experience in industry in Europe and Asia, and is now the chief executive of Industry Wales.
David D’Souza, director of membership at the Chartered Institute of Professional Development, who has previously worked across a range of financial services and retail organisations.
Emily Cotteril, who has overseen business and consumer-facing projects.
Miatta Fahnbulleh, the chief executive of the New Economics Foundation and a former director of research at the Institute of Public Policy Research.
Mr Gething said:“I am very pleased to announce these appointments to my Economic Advisory Board. Each member brings with them a wealth of expertise and experience that will help improve our understanding of the economic and business landscape.
“It is a board that will help me deliver my ambition to create the conditions where more people, particularly the disadvantaged and young people, feel confident about planning their futures in Wales.
“I am also delighted to appoint Professor Andrew Campbell as chair. Andrew’s experience as a leader and academic in a key economic sector means he is more than equipped to fulfil this key role. I also look forward to working with Andrea Wayman as deputy hair who has a wealth of experience in inclusive employment, training and equalities.
“The board’s advice, both individually and collectively, will be invaluable as they support me to take forward our ambition to improve Wales’ economic development and strengthen its resilience - both now and in the future as we continue our recovery from the pandemic.
