The ECB are reportedly set to review the security arrangements in place for England's historic Test tour of Pakistan following the attempted assassination of Imran Khan.
The former Prime Minister and World Cup-winning cricket captain was shot in the leg at a political rally in Wazirabad, Punjab. It has also been reported that one person was killed in the attack and several more were injured.
And the Cricketer is now reporting that ECB are planning to send their security consultant Reg Dickason back to Pakistan to 'see if the security situation has changed in the aftermath of the attempted assassination'.
While there has been no suggestion England could call off the tour following the shooting, fast bowler Mark Wood has admitted the incident left him feeling concerned. He said: "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried by that because you're going back there when there's been trouble."
However, Test captain Ben Stokes has said the players trust Dickason's judgement and the report states he is set to fly out to Pakistan after he finishes overseeing the arrival of the rest of the players who will feature in England's ODI series against Australia later this month.
"Obviously what happened there last week was a bit of a shock to see but Reg Dickason has been out there," Stokes said. "He's been the main [security] man for England for many years now.
"In my opinion he's the best man to assess the situation. So we can't really comment on anything until we've got all the information back from Reg.
"But whatever Reg comes back with, the players and the people going out on that tour 100 per cent trust him because he's a man you trust with your life, Reg."
It is set to be the first time England have played a Test series in Pakistan since 2005 and they did recently embark on a successful tour of the country for seven T20Is ahead of the ongoing T20 World Cup.
