Crystal Palace fear Eberechi Eze could be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury.
The midfielder has also been ruled out for England’s matches against Australia and Italy this month.
Eze played 88 minutes for Palace in their 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday before he was substituted.
The 25-year-old has started the season in excellent form but his injury is a major blow for Palace, who are also without Michael Olise as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Olise and new signing Matheus Franca are not expected back until late October, while Dean Henderson, Jefferson Lerma and Naouirou Ahamada are also out injured.
Eze was handed his England debut against Malta in June and earned his second international cap in last month’s friendly win over Scotland at Hampden Park.
Palace, who are ninth in the Premier League after making a decent start to the season under Roy Hodgson, face Nottingham Forest at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
