An urgent recall has been issued for kids' toys sold on eBay over a "risk of suffocation".
Irish parents have been advised to get rid of two toys sold online on eBay in a warning by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. One of the toys is a Luclay waterfall bath mat toy, and parents are warned that the spoon that comes with the toy may pose a suffocation hazard to babies and young children.
The Competitions and Consumer Protection Commission posted the recall online on Thursday and cited a "risk of suffocation" associated with the toy. The recall notice reads: "The product’s blue spoon does not have any opening, divider or scalloped edge pattern and therefore presents a suffocation hazard because the spoon may form an airtight seal over the mouth and nose."
