You’ve just about made it through to pay day with two whole pennies to rub together – but with omicron cases waning and a brighter social life on the horizon, it's tempting to start making plans.
When it comes to a night out, Glasgow is far more friendly on our bank balance than other major cities - Edinburgh, we’re looking at you - but not all of us have funds as big as our stomachs.
While you can't put a price on a good time, you may want to put a budget on dinner.
Saving money doesn’t mean skipping the best restaurants, however. Many of Glasgow’s top eateries have delicious dishes on offer that will give you change back from a tenner.
That's why we've put together a guide to the best spots with cracking dishes that will cost you £10 – or much less, in many cases.

Mother India
The daddy of Glasgow Indian restaurants, of which there are more than a few.
This place is beloved by Glaswegian curry fans for a reason. Their Lamb Karahi is one of the best we’ve tried - and at £8.50 still gives you change from a tenner.

Ka Pao
We bet you weren’t expecting to find a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant on this list, were you?
But thankfully South Asian-inspired restaurant Ka Pao makes it all the more possible to dine out in Glasgow’s posh west end thanks to its reasonably priced menu.
With the perfect blend of sweet, sticky and savoury, the fried chicken with spicy caramel is easily the highlight of the menu and costs just £7.50. Meanwhile the salt and Szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms, with pickled mooli (a winter radish) are so delicious eating them for just £6.50 feels like robbery.
And if you are feeling really flush, just £27.50 per person will get you a 13-dish spread of delectable bites, including coveted grilled beef skewers, crispy pork belly and jungle curry of shetland mussels and ramiro pepper. Sharing is caring after all.
The Ivy
It’s far from being a full meal, but if you’re looking for a little luxury to start the evening, you could do worse than nipping in for an appetiser at The Ivy.
No one does glamour quite like this city centre celeb spot. Even if you can’t quite fork out for a full three course meal, there’s still plenty to get passionate about on the menu.
Starters like the £9.25 mozzarella served with crispy artichokes, pear and truffle honey or the £8.50 cream tea guarantee a high-end experience without the bank-busting bill.
La Bonne Auberge
Simple but stylish French cooking is the name of the game at La Bonne Auberge. It's a real family favourite and can always be counted upon for a special occasion meal.
Their French onion soup is worth the visit alone and will warm your cockles for just £6.95.

Celino's
Italian-influenced Celino's serve up some of the best dishes in Glasgow. Both its Alexandra Parade and Partick restaurants offer beautiful breakfasts, outstanding lunches and dinners - all with classic Italian flair.
They say the sign of a great restaurant is how well it nails the basics - and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better margherita outside of Italy. Best of all? It hits the £10 budget.

Little Hoi An
The spot where Strathbungo meets Govanhill is more than just a haven for hipsters. Allison Street is also home to the city’s best Vietnamese restaurant, Little Hoi Ann.
Run by married couple Julie and Raymond, the spot is bustling and charming - and the prices won’t bust the bank.
The menu features plenty of treats under a tenner including all their delicious coconut curries, the salt n chill pork and crunchy chicken in sweet chilli sauce.
Kimchi Cult
We hate to play fast and looe with hyperbole here, but the honey butter fried chicken will change your life.
Order it with the bulgogi fries - beef if you're feeling indulgent, mushroom if you're pretending to be healthy.
This will take you over your £10 budget, but split it with a friend (we promise you'll struggle to eat it all yourself) and you'll be quids in.
Catch

Long gone are the days of fish being a cheap supper and fair’s fair: great seafood should cost. The likes of The Finnieston and Crabshakk offer some of the best in town - but the dishes are understandably are on the higher end of the price scale.
So why not plump for the humble fish 'n' chips instead? Catch Giffnock is regularly named as Scotland's best fish and chip shop, and their old school fish and sausage suppers are equally as good - with all small suppers coming in at £9.95.

Scran
Often overlooked, the east end of the city has some delicious foodie gems, including Dennistoun Bar-B-Que and Bilson Eleven.
But our top pick is Scran, a pint-sized Alexandra Parade cafe serving up one of the best brunches in the city. Dishes like sensational Stornoway poached eggs, heavenly fried halloumi buns and brilliant brioche French toast really hit the spot, and all come in under the £10 price tag.
