EasyJet cancels flights between Manchester and Isle of Man for FOUR MONTHS due to 'operational issues'

EasyJet has announced it has cancelled its flights between Manchester and the Isle of Man for four months over summer due to 'operational issues'. The airline will not be running any of its usual flights from Manchester Airport to the island between the beginning of July and the end of October.

It comes after the flight schedule initially showed there were no flights operated by easyJet between June 30 and October 5 this year. The airline has since said that all normal flights are expected to resume by the beginning of November. Loganair is continuing to operate daily flights on the route.

easyJet said the reason for the cancellations is due to 'industry wide operational issues' impacting airlines, which has meant they were forced to make 'pre-emptive cancellations' during the summer period.

Britian's biggest budget airline company hit headlines in recent days for 'proactively' cancelling various summer trips from airports up and down the country. Following the announcement, easyJet apologised for the inconvenience caused to travellers and offered the option of a refund, voucher, or the chance to rebook for a later date.

A spokesperson said: "easyJet is operating up to 1700 flights carrying up to a quarter of a million customers a day. There are industry wide operational issues that are impacting airlines at the moment, which means we are making a number of pre-emptive cancellations for the summer.

"This is including flights between the Isle of Man and Manchester between 1 July until the end of October. The route will recommence at the start of November.

"We are very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause. We are informing customers directly in advance to minimise the impact on their plans and providing the option to receive a refund or voucher, or rebook for free to a later date, and our customer service hours have been extended to support affected customers. easyJet remains absolutely focused on our daily operation and continues to monitor this very closely."
