Jet2 and easyJet have issued a warning to passengers flying to and from France.
Several unions have called for cross-sector strike action and demonstrations causing disruption to services. The majority of trains around France are cancelled, including some international connections and about 20% of flights out of Paris's Orly Airport are cancelled and airlines are warning of delays.
This has prompted easyJet and Jet2 to issue a statement to passengers. EasyJet said: "We've been advised that there will be national strikes taking place in France on Wednesday, January 8 from 7pm to Friday, January 20 to 7am, that is likely to affect transport services including air and rail travel.

"If you are due to travel to or from France during this period please check the status of your flight on Flight Tracker before you leave for the airport, which is available online or through the easyJet app.
"As national and local rail services may also be affected, please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of time for your journey to and from the airport."
Jet2 also stressed the importance of checking for updates on their website. They added: "We wanted to let you know that industrial strike action is taking place on January 19 2023, supported by the Air Traffic Service in France. This means that flights operating through French airspace may be delayed.
"Our UK-based operations teams are working hard to ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum. Please arrive at the airport at least two hours before your departure time. Check-in closes 40 minutes before a flight's departure time.
"We will add any new updates here, on our website, and let affected customers know by email, text, information letter and our Customer Helpers at the airport.
"We hope this strike action, which is beyond our control, does not cause you too much inconvenience. We'll have you on your way as soon as we can."
