Eastern Michigan had a prayer answered against Toledo on the final play of the game. They came up empty while going for the win instead of kicking a PAT to tie and force overtime.
The Eagles trailed the Rockets 29-22 and were down to their last gasp.
Terry Lockett caught a 36-yard pass from Cole Snyder to bring the Eagles within 29-28. A PAT would have forced overtime. Instead, Chris Creighton went for two and the win.
Avery Smith broke up the attempted pass and Toledo, which scored 22 points in the fourth quarter, had a 29-28 victory in MAC play.
