Isaiah House Treatment Center is holding a free recovery event in Hazard Friday evening called ‘Wounds to Wisdom’. Guest speakers will share their testimonies to spread their message that there is real hope for addiction.
Ted McCoart is Director of Public Relations for Isaiah House. McCoart said they chose Hazard and Perry County because it’s an area that’s been hit hard by the drug epidemic.
“It's just important to us that we reach out to as many different parts of the state as we possibly can. While our locations are in central Kentucky, we serve people from all across the state,” said McCoart.
The event is geared toward the families and loved ones of people struggling with addiction as well as those individuals themselves. McCoart said if someone at the event were to decide they were ready to enter recovery they would start the admissions process immediately.
“We have an admissions team that's on staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And if we don't have an open bed, our admission staff is leading them to someone else in the treatment industry,” said McCoart.
Isaiah House is based in central Kentucky, but McCoart said the treatment center travels all over the state to bring people to their locations.
The Wounds to Wisdom event begins Friday at 6 p.m. in downtown Hazard.
