With Easter weekend approaching and children already off school, many UK families will be heading on holiday.
However, delays at Dover and closures at major London train stations may make travelling a little more difficult.
Keeping up to date with the latest travel news and updates will be crucial to travelling easily this weekend. People may need to take alternative routes or leave more time for their journey.
Find out below what’s happening in terms of transport this weekend, from stations and ports, to roads and tubes, to help you plan your journey
Euston and Victoria closures
Euston and Victoria rail stations will be closedfor four days over the Easter holidays, due to track improvements and engineering works.
Rail replacement buses will operate instead, while some trains will divert to nearby stations.
People hoping to travel to Gatwick Airport should use Thameslink or other Southern services.
Elizabeth line
Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, there will be no services between Paddington and Abbey Wood due to work upgrading signalling software.
Elizabeth line trains also won’t run from Paddington to Heathrow Airport, though there will still be national rail services.
London Underground and Overground
From 2pm on Good Friday until Tuesday, there will be no Jubilee line services between West Hampstead and Stanmore.
Between Good Friday and Easter Monday, there will be no Metropolitan line services between Aldgate and Harrow on the Hill.
The closure at Euston will also affect the London Overground. This will affect trains to Kilburn High Road on Friday and Saturday and to Watford Junction on Sunday and Monday.
Dover
Thousands of people were delayed at Dover at the weekend, with some waiting up to 14 hours.
The port declared a critical incident after delays were caused by strong winds, French border processes, and a high volume of Easter holiday coach traffic.
Queues have now reportedly cleared but anyone travelling over the Easter holidays should keep up to date with the situation at Dover.
RAC traffic warning
The RAC has warned that traffic is expected to be busier than usual over Easter weekend, particularly in the home counties and south-west England.
This is due to Easter holiday traffic and people driving instead of taking the train, due to station closures.
