Home Bargains has recalled several Easter products over concerns they could pose a serious choking hazard to children.
Toys sold at the discount chain have now been flagged by the Government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards due to potential safety hazards.
Rabbit and chick plush toys sold in the run-up to Easter 2025 have both been found to have weaknesses that could allow children to pull them apart.

“The products present a serious risk of asphyxiation as it has been identified that the limbs of the toy can become easily detached due to the weakness of the seams,” a statement reads.
“As a result, the internal fibrous stuffing material is easily accessible. A child may access the stuffing material and place it in their mouth.”
The NHS says asphyxiation includes choking, suffocation, and strangulation.
“If coughing doesn’t work, stand behind them, lean them forward and give up to five sharp blows between their shoulder blades with the heel of your hand,” NHS guidance says about helping someone who is choking.

The products that cause problems are Home Bargains Happy Easter Plush Toys 25cm (Pink Rabbit, White Rabbit and Yellow Chick).
They were made in China and have the barcode 10811016.
The products have been withdrawn from the market and recalled by Home Bargains, with customers being asked to return them to the store.
Anyone who has bought a product is entitled to a full refund.
