It’s almost the Easter bank holiday weekend where millions of workers will get a few days with their loved ones and friends, eating chocolate eggs and indulging in a roast dinner.
You may also be wondering when your favourite soap is due to air on TV and how you can watch the latest action. There is so much going on; whether it’s on Albert Square in EastEnders, the Yorkshire Dales in Emmerdale, in Cheshire in Hollyoaks or in Weatherfield on Coronation Street.
To help you navigate the TV schedule, we’ve come up with a handy list of the major soaps and when they will be broadcasting over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Here’s what we know.

Good Friday (April 15)
You will be able to catch all the action in Emmerdale in its usual time slot from 7.30pm on ITV. An hour-long episode of Coronation Street will follow from 8pm, also on ITV.
There will be no EastEnders on Good Friday as that is replaced with a David Attenborough documentary on dinosaurs from 6.30pm and then the quarter-final of Masterchef from 8pm. Hollyoaks, meanwhile, will be on air on Channel 4 in its usual slot of 6.30pm.

Saturday, April 16
There will be no new episodes of soaps aired on Saturday, April 16, in between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Viewers can expect the BBC to air celebrity editions of popular TV game shows, ITV will launch the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent and Channel 4 will show Matt Baker’s Yorkshire farm and a documentary on the Titanic.
Easter Sunday (April 17)
There will be no new episodes of soaps aired on Easter Sunday. If you’re planning your TV schedule for this day, you can expect BBC to cover the latest from the snooker and an episode of Doctor Who, ITV will show the FA Cup clash between Chelsea and Crystal Palace and Channel 4 will show new game show One and Six Zeros and the home project show, Grand Designs.
Easter Monday (April 18)
There will be a new episode of EastEnders on BBC One on Easter Monday from 7.30pm. Emmerdale, meanwhile, will also be on, on ITV from 7.30pm, with an hour-long episode of Coronation Street following from 8pm. On Channel 4, Hollyoaks will broadcast from 6.30pm.
