The big bank holiday weekend is due in the middle of April with most workers taking a long weekend.
This year, dates have been switched around, delaying the late May bank holiday to allow more people to enjoy a longer break for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
It has been hailed by tourism bosses who say it will help people plan getaways earlier in the season.
And the rearranging of the bank holidays for 2022 has prompted one South West business leader to urge Government to think again about bank holidays and how they are allocated to allow more flexibility in the post-pandemic working world.
Will I get paid?
Employers do not have to pay staff for bank holidays but they can choose to add it to their statutory annual leave entitlement.
Most workers who work a 5-day week must receive at least 28 days’ paid annual leave a year. This is the equivalent of 5.6 weeks of holiday.
Easter
Easter falls later this year with Good Friday on Friday, April 15 and Easter Monday on Monday, April 18
May Bank Holiday
The early May bank holiday falls on Monday May 2
Platinum Jubilee
The Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations include a four day weekend in June.
The Spring bank holiday, which usually falls in late May has been moved to June.
It means that there will be a bank holiday on Thursday June 2 and Friday June 3.
Summer bank holiday
The August bank holiday will be held on Monday, August 29 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In Scotland it is held on Monday, August 1.
Christmas
Christmas Day, always a bank holiday, falls on a Sunday this year which means that it will instead by observed on Tuesday, December 27.
Boxing Day bank holiday is unchanged on Monday, December 26.
