The Easter holidays are here which means the schools are off for two weeks but there won't be any time to get bored as there are plenty of activities across Wales for you and your family to enjoy. And this year it's a very different picture as it's the first Easter out of lockdown restrictions for two years, you can read the latest coronavirus news here.
So what are you waiting for? We've compiled a handy list of all the fun Easter activities you can enjoy in Wales - from the big stage shows to food festivals and sculpture trails. If you are hoping to save some pennies too then you can find out about the free Easter activities here.

1. Street Food Circus, Merthyr Mawr
Street Food Circus Forest Festival is returning to Merthyr Mawr just in time for some delicious Easter treats. The festival will be home to some of Wales' best street food stalls, craft gin and beer bars, and entertainment.
Running for four weekends and beginning on Good Friday (Friday, April, 15) the festival will also be open on Saturday, April, 16, Easter Sunday (Sunday, April, 17) and Easter Monday (Monday, April, 18) meaning you can visit at any point over the Easter weekend. 2. We Will Rock You, Wales Millennium Centre
Coming to the Wales Millennium Centre this Easter is We Will Rock You the smash-hit musical by Queen and Ben Elton. A total of 24 of Queen's biggest hits and songs will be performed in this spectacular and thrilling show.
The show opened on Monday, April, 4 and runs to Saturday, April 16 with tickets starting at £19.50. If you are thinking of visiting the Wales Millennium Centre for the show you can read where the best hotels to stay within walking distance are here.
3. Paw Patrol sculpture trail, Cardiff
Paw Patrol characters will be visiting St David's Centre in Cardiff, along with other Nickelodeon characters, in the form of giant toy brick sculptures. The models will measure up to 120cm in height and the trail is free to take part in.
In total there will be 15 models, including popular characters like Chase, Skye, and Abby from Paw Patrol, in St David's Centre from Monday, April, 11 to Sunday, April, 24. You can read more about the trail here.
4. Superhero Spectacular, Margam Country Park
For the chance to meet some of your family's favourite superheroes head to Margam Country Park in Port Talbot. Everyone from Spiderman, Captain America, and Batman to Titan the Robot and Ice Princesses will all be at Margam Country Park on Easter Monday (Monday, April, 18).
The event starts at 10am and there will also be shows, dancing and singing all set in the grounds of the park so weather-appropriate gear will be needed. Children aged under two go free and a family ticket for two adults and two children is £35, £9 for children and £11 for adults.
5. Indoor and outdoor carting, Gower
A new indoor and outdoor carting track is opening in the Gower, just in time for Easter. Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre is expanding further by opening the indoor and outdoor tracks, meaning it is perfect for all weather.
The carting track is set to open at Easter and this is not the only activity that Perriswood offers as there is also archery, air rifles, bird of prey displays, and airsoft shooting on site. To read more about the new carting tracks click here.
6. Gower Coast Adventures, Gower
Gower Coast Adventures will be back on the water this Easter and they begin running their trips for the first time in 2022 on Good Friday (Friday, April, 15). The trips take offf from Oxwich Bay and will visit areas like the stunning Worm's Head.
The animals that have been spotted on these trips include seals, dolphins, and a range of sea birds and the cost of the trip includes waterproofs and life jackets.
7. Merthyr Comedy Festival and Dinomania, Merthyr Tydfil
There are some great events in Merthyr Tydfil over Easter which are part of Merthyr BID's community campaign, We Love Merthyr. They include the Merthyr Comedy Festival which will run from Thursday, April, 21 to Saturday, April, 23, and Dinomania on Wednesday, April, 20.
The comedy festival will take place in various venues across Merthyr Tydfil and includes comedians such as Laura Lexx, who has been on Live at the Apollo, and Marcel Lucont. You can read more about the events here and tickets start at £12.50.
At Dinomania you will be able to meet realistic walking dinosaurs and there will also be interactive puppets, animatronics, and fossils at the event. Dinomania will take place at Market Square in Merthyr Tydfil from 11am to 2pm with tickets starting at £8.
8. Welsh National Rally Championship, Llanelwedd
If you are looking for something a little bit different to enjoy this Easter then the Welsh National Rally Championship might be for you. The championship continues on Saturday, April, 9 at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd.
It is part of an eight-round races calendar in 2022 and the racecourse will include the Sarnau forests and begin and end at the Royal Welsh Showground.
9. The Big Museum Easter Trail
Museums across Wales are taking part in the big museum Easter trail where you and your family become Easter detectives, crack the code and earn yourself a treat! National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans Museum, National Waterfront Museum and Big Pit National Coal Museum are all taking part so the choice of museum is yours.
For £3.50 there are three challenges to complete, a trail and a sweet treat at the end. The Big Museum Easter Trail is running from Good Friday (Friday, April, 15) to Easter Monday (Monday, April, 18).
10. Royal Mint's chocolate-making workshop, Llantrisant
For those who love sweet treats this activity is sure to delight as children can decorate an egg-shaped brownie, make a chocolate lollipop or design their own biscuit. The chocolate-making workshop is taking place at the Royal Mint Experience in Llantrisant, Pontyclun in Rhondda Cyon Taf.
The workshop costs £15 per person and is running on Saturday, April, 9, Sunday, April, 10, Thursday, April, 14, and Good Friday (Friday, April, 15).
11. Bunny on the Bridge, Newport
In Newport the Transporter Bridge is putting on a great couple of days of activities on Tuesday, April, 12, and Wednesday, April, 13. This includes top walkway walks and journeys across the river.
You can get to experience one of the six working Transporter Bridges left in the world, while also experiencing an Easter egg hunt and making an Easter-themed bonnet. Tickets are £4 for adults and £3 for children.
12. Massive Easter egg hunts
If you are looking for the classic Easter activity of an Easter Egg hunt then there are plenty in Wales to choose from. From National Trust sites like Bodnant Garden in Conwy and castles such as Dinefwr Castle in Llandeilo and estates like Llanerchearon in Aberaeron, there is sure to be an Easter egg hunt near you.
13. Lido Ponty, Pontypridd
Opening just in time for Easter is Lido Ponty in Ynysangharad Park, meaning you and the family can enjoy some outdoor swimming. Swimming for children is free and it costs £2 for adults.
The Lido will re-open for the 2022 season on Saturday, April, 9 and you can book tickets now.
14. Boat trip, New Quay
Also opening in time for Easter are the Dolphin Survey Boat Trips in New Quay where you will get the chance to spot dolphins in their natural habitat. The business is family-run and supports marine conservation in the area and you can either hire out a whole boat for you and your family or take part in a trip.
Dolphin Survey Boat Trips will be opening again at Easter and the trips cost £20 for adults and £12 for children. You can book your tickets online.
15. Zog and the Flying Doctors, St David's Hall
Another theatre trip you can enjoy is at St David's Hall in Cardiff. Zog and the Flying Doctors is based on the book by popular children's authors Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The show will be showing on Monday, April, 11, and Tuesday, April 12, and the show lasts one hour.
Tickets are available online and the show is shown at different points during the day, with availability still left. Tickets start at £16.50.
16. Easter animals, Folly Farm
To see some adorable Easter animals, including baby lambs and Easter chicks, head to Folly Farm in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. Meeting the animals takes place in Jolly Barn, where there will also be giant rabbits, card hunts, and picture trails to enjoy.
From Saturday, April, 9 the farm is open from 10am until 5pm and Easter at Folly Farm will run from Saturday, April, 9 to Sunday, April, 24. Children under two go free and tickets cost £13.95 for toddlers, £19.95 for children and £21.95 for adults.
17. Snoopy Trail, Cardiff, Caerphilly and Porthcawl
115 Snoopy figures are coming to Cardiff, Caerphilly, and Porthcawl this Easter to raise money for Dogs Trust. Called A Dog's Trail the trail begins on Friday, April, 8, and will run until Sunday, June, 5.
The individually-designed sculptures will be on show in the streets and open spaces of Cardiff, Caerphilly, and Porthcawl and the trail is free to enjoy. To see more free Easter events and activities click here.
18. Easter Afternoon Tea, Bridgend
Why not treat yourself to an Easter afternoon tea at Court Colman Manor in Bridgend. Running on Sunday, April, 16 is an Easter themed afternoon tea, a visit from the Easter bunny, a Easter egg hunt, games and activities, face painting and a Easter bonnet parade.
The event runs from 2pm to 5pm and costs £19.95 per person. Booking is essential for this event.
19. Medieval Times at Fonmon Castle
Fonmon Castle in Barry will be taking you back to medieval times this Easter as activities at the castle include medieval jousting, fighting displays, archery sessions and more. The event will be running from Saturday, April, 16 to Easter Monday (Monday, April, 18) and tickets cost £16.50 for adults and £13.50 for children.
Horse specialist team The Knights of Albion will be putting on amazing displays and there will also be a medieval village where you can sample food.
