EastEnders has finally shared full details of how Alfie Moon's return will play out on Albert Square, giving bride-to-be and ex-wife Kat Slater a shock.
Shane Richie has reprised his role as Alfie, who will be thrown straight into a major story involving Kat and Phil.
Alfie pitches up in Walford on the day of Kat and Phil's big day, putting a big spanner in the works for the married-couple-to-be.
BBC spoilers have now revealed Alfie’s shock return will hit the soap on Monday, when Kat is far from pleased by the reappearance of her ex and puts him firmly in his place.
The storyline kicks off when Kat is faced with her first shock of the day, when her grandmother Big Mo turns up.
Kat and Phil are surprised with a celebration, but Kat's excitement is short-lived when Shirley makes her doubt her future with Phil.
After talking to Stacey, Kat lays her fears to rest but little does she know that Sharon is on a mission to win Phil back for herself.
When a mix-up leaves Kat left fearful about Sharon's intentions, Kat storms over to challenge Phil – who assures her he loves her.
Despite Phil's reassuring words, Kat won't let it rest and confronts Sharon – however, she could prove to be the least of Kat's worries when she later gets the shock.
Alfie appears on her doorstep and begs her to reconsider marrying Phil, but a furious Kat puts him in his place.
Then Phil arrives and wastes no time in squaring up to Alfie when he discovers that his love rival is back in town.
Keen to appease the situation, Kat assures Phil she's still planning to meet him at the altar.
After being told to leave by Kat, we’ll then see Alfie head back to the canal boat where he’s currently staying, only to realise that Bert and Ernie have snuck into his van.
Still reeling from her ex's return, Kat confides in Stacey but they are interrupted when Alfie calls her about the twins, leaving her with no other choice but to go and fetch them, making her late for the wedding.
Kat soon arrives at the boat, but the twins refuse to get off and the already fraught situation quickly gets out of hand.
Alfie uses the opportunity to make a last ditch attempt to convince Kat that marrying Phil is the wrong decision but will it be enough to change her mind?
