EastEnders teases double return for Christmas as evil Janine 'finally exposed'

EastEnders has hinted at a double return later this month, that could trigger explosive scenes for Mick Carter and Janine Butcher.

Ahead of their Christmas wedding and amid their baby joy, the walls could finally close in on Janine and her deadly lies.

Amid fears of a death this Christmas, after some of the cast were pictured filming dramatic scenes on location, it seems a double return could derail Janine's hopes for a happy life with Mick.

Fans know that earlier this year, her rivalry with Linda Carter over Mick left Linda fighting for her life.

Janine crashed the car they were in before fleeing the scene, not before moving Linda over into the driver seat - as to make it look as though she had crashed the car while drunk.

The truth has not been revealed, and neither has the fact she almost had Linda's daughter Annie taken away from her.

She paid Jada Lennox to set Linda up by hiding booze around the alcoholic's home, with Janine keen to make it seem as though Annie was not safe in her care.

Jada planned to tell the truth but was threatened by Janine, leading to her fleeing Walford in August.

But she may finally be back to expose Janine, just as Mick's mother Shirley Carter grows closer to the truth about the car accident.

New spoilers reveal Jada and her young daughter Alyssa are planning to join Sharon Watts and Zack Hudson for a family Christmas.

If Jada does return just in time for it all to fall apart for Janine, can we expect to see the teenager spilling the beans about what really happened with Linda?

It comes as Janine actress Charlie Brooks dropped huge hints about what was ahead this Christmas, amid fears Mick will die.

Both Charlie and her co-star Danny Dyer - who play Mick and Janine - are bowing out of the soap in coming scenes, but just how that may happen has yet to be revealed. There have been rumours of death, devastation and much more for the pair in the wake of their exits but just how it'll all play out has yet to be revealed.

Discussing Janine's motive ahead of the wedding, Janine said: "Janine is feeling anxious, nervous, and excited – she wants to get it done. I think she's terrified he's going to fall back in love with Linda, so the desperation to do it is in full force.

"Ultimately, she wants to get them away from Linda now. She wants to get Linda out of the pub or get a new pub, so she separates them so they can start a new life. It's all about her new life and her new family, and she's finding great comfort in that."

Charlie also teased the pair may not "run off into the sunset together".

Asked if she wants Janine to end up with her man, she added: "Yes, I want to see them run off into the sunset together, but I think the audience might hate me if they do! I like the idea that Janine brings out a different side in Mick, sometimes a little bit of a darker side, because he has been walked over by Linda.

"At the end of the day, Linda did have an affair and have somebody else's baby and is an alcoholic, so Janine has no sympathy for that whatsoever. She sees Mick as a little bit weak for putting up with all that.

"Janine's like, 'Come over here and misbehave with me!' and lots of men like a crazy person. Janine is one of those chaotic, crazy, slightly infectious, both in a good and bad way, people. And I've loved playing that part of their relationship as well."

Linda actress Kellie Bright previously revealed to The Mirror that Danny's exit storyline would be "explosive".

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
