EastEnders stars 'in fear' over Danniella Westbrook's tell-all revenge book

Long-standing EastEnders stars are reportedly living “in fear” over what Danniella Westbrook might say in her new book.

The actress, who played Sam Mitchell on and off in the soap from 1990 to 2016, is not happy she has been recast.

She has even threatened to sue the BBC over their decision not to hire her back.

As she plans a tell-all revenge book, her former co-stars are said to be nervous about what she might say about them.

A source told Closer magazine: “She’s never been one to mince her words, and given she no longer has any alliances or loyalties to any of them, she won’t be afraid to unleash her anger.

“While they don’t have anything to hide, of course it will all be told from Danniella’s perspective and that may not align with their own recollections of the past.

“So there are fears among some of those who worked closely with her that they’ll face her wrath in her memoir.”

The BBC recently revealed that actress Kim Medcalf will reprise the role of Sam Mitchell later this year.

Taking to Twitter to voice her opinion on the snub, 48-year-old Danniella wrote: “Well well well who knew all I can say is thanks looks like I dodged a bullet.

“Wishing Kym the best of luck at @bbceastenders yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent comebacks on the square go smash it darling x.

“Oh but not to @bbceastenders my legal team will be in touch to know why.”

The claims didn't end there as Danniella launched into a tirade against people at the “top of the show”.

As the bitter rant continued, she said: “It’s great 2 C the same level of care standards & loyalty 2'@bbceastenders you bang on about having and giving to both new & old members of cast is still going as strong then as it always has… not just me as Sam that needs replacing I’d look closer to the top of the show and cut that dead wood after all it’s all about evolving."

She signed off the post: "Bet you all can't wait for my new book now can ya ….. oh it's gonna go way back to the things I've never ever told #beafraidpeople #itsallgood’.”

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the actress – who has famously battled cocaine addiction – said EastEnders had failed to consider her mental health before recasting her character.

She said: “I’ve been known as Sam Mitchell for 32 years. But nobody at EastEnders contacted me to let me know they had recast Kim in the role.

“The bosses have seen me go through addiction and they have no idea where I am today. Thankfully I’m OK. But if I hadn’t been it could have had very serious consequences for me."
