Strictly bosses are looking to partner up with another EastEnders star for the next series.
The soap’s Bobby Brazier is already rumoured to be waltzing on to the dance show for its 21st series. And he may go head-to-head with former ‘Ender Priya Davdra, who left Albert Square last year.
Sources today said the glamorous 36-year-old had caught the eye of the hit BBC show’s casting team.
Priya broke new ground during her three-year stint on the soap as Iqra Ahmed – Walford’s first Muslim lesbian.
A source said: “Priya was singled out as a target for the casting team early in the process and they were keen. She is young, glamorous and would be a great fit for the show.”
Today, Bobby – the son of late reality TV star Jade Goody – was named as another contender for Strictly, which starts in the Autumn.
The 20-year-old joined the soap as Freddie Slater last year.
In 2022, his EastEnders co-star James Bye – who plays Martin Fowler – and his pro partner Amy Dowden were voted out in week six of the dance competition.
He had been hoping to emulate the success of fellow EastEnder Rose Ayling Ellis who lifted the Glitterball trophy with Giovanni Pernice in 2021.
In 2009, EastEnder favourites Zoe Lucker and Natalie Cassidy both appeared on Strictly.
Earlier this year Priya teased she may return to the soap. She said: “I’m not dead. There’s always scope to come back. I think it [Iqra’s coming out] was a very important storyline and it had a huge impact.
“Things like this can be taboo but I feel like it raised a lot of awareness.”
