EastEnders star Michelle Collins rushed to doctors after suddenly falling ill

EastEnders star Michelle Collins has revealed she needed to see a doctor after suddenly falling ill.

The actress, 60, who played Cindy Beale in the BBC soap until 1998, didn't tell fans what was wrong with her, but thanked her local walk-in centre for the level of care she received.

Michelle took to Twitter with a photo of the Finchley Memorial walk-in centre in London with the caption: "Thank you so much, under two hour wait and great staff, doctors, polite, well mannered.

"Thank god we still have these to put less pressure on A&E, had tests and went away with antibiotics."

Fans rushed to ask if the mum-of-one had recovered, with one tweeting: "Hope all is OK now?", to which Michelle replied: "Yes, thanks. I'll be fine now, so nice of you to ask."

The actress has had a busy few months having tied the knot with her long-term partner Mike Davidson in August.

The intimate ceremony held at Islington town hall was attended by Michelle's onscreen ex-husband Adam Woodyatt, who played Ian Beale in EastEnders before leaving Albert Square last year.

Michelle has been with 39-year-old Mike for 10 years and the couple looked happier than ever as they said 'I do'.

During the ceremony, the actress paid a touching tribute to her mum, who passed away last year after a two-year battle with cancer.

She had a picture of her parent in the registry office and also chose to wear her mum's wedding ring as the couple made their vows. Michelle's engagement ring had belonged to her mother-in-law.

"I know she would have been really proud and she would have been proud we did it in Islington where we’re from," the actress told OK! magazine.

The star will forever be associated for playing the feisty Cindy Beale in EastEnders, who got into more than a few scrapes before the character met her end in 1998.

Earlier this year, Michelle spoke about what life was like on set of the BBC soap, including working with the late June Brown, who played Dot Cotton.

Speaking on Loose Women, she joked the star 'almost' lived forever as she discussed June's amazing health.

"She was actually very healthy," Michelle explained. "She ate very healthily. I know she smoked and loved her red wine. She was very healthy.

"She had a whole box of vitamins. I saw her once doing her pelvic floor [exercises] on the trolley in the BBC canteen. And she was the one to introduce me to the hay diet where you don't mix your proteins or your starches.

"She was a very fit woman hence why she lived for so long."
