The residents of EastEnders are shaken by the discovery of Tina Carter’s body on the soap next week, but the walls could finally be closing in on murderer Gray Atkins.
The Carters deal with the shock news that Tina’s body has been found, but will the police connect her death to evil Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith)?
BBC spoilers reveal that it is quite a week for the Carters next week on the soap, with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) hitting the boxing ring for a charity match before the tragic news is broken.
In the aftermath of Mick entering the ring, DCI Arthurs turns up to reveal that Tina’s body has been discovered in the Argee Bhajee.
Devastated at the bombshell confirmation of her death, the Carters try to process their loss, with Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) returning to the Square to join her grieving relatives.
As the family reels, a suspicious Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) makes a major confession to the police, which could be another step towards the undoing of evil Gray.
In scenes set to air next Friday on the BBC soap, Shirley tells the police officers that Gray had inexplicably said that he saw her sister Tina a few months ago on a bus.
She also explains that Tina had withdrawn money from her bank account following her disappearance, giving the family hope that she could return.
This comes amid a tense and violent showdown between Kheerat Panesar and Gray on the soap, after Kheerat worried that he might be getting in too deep with the murderer.
BBC viewers have watched as Gray has been trolled by Kheerat, who has posed as dead Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) online, sending emails to the killer in a bid to unnerve him.
Despite Whitney's advice to stay away, Kheerat thought that he could finally get Gray to admit the truth about Chantelle's death and rushed to meet him Gray rang him in desperation.
But after talking to Gray's wife Chelsea, Whitney realised that Kheerat had been set-up by Gray and was heading into a trap.
Meanwhile, the two came to blows before a shocking end to the soap as Kheerat hit Gray over the head with a bottle, leaving him lying lifeless on the floor.
Unsure whether Gray is alive or dead, a panicked Kheerat makes a plan to flee Walford - but could he leave just as the truth of Gray comes out?
