EastEnders favourite Mick Carter will have to face the end of his marriage on the soap this week, after he is served divorce papers.
The landlord of the Queen Vic (Danny Dyer) faces further heartbreak on EastEnders as his marriage to Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is soon to be over for good.
It comes after Linda fled the Square when her attempts to pass off husband Mick as her new baby daughter Annie's father were exposed, and her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood) was brought to light.
Linda then briefly returned months later for a run in with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) after tracking Linda down to find out what had happened between her and Mick.
BBC spoilers now reveal that Mick is in for a hellish week on the soap, which starts with the stress of a charity boxing match he has organised.
The numbers are low for the boxing bout, forcing Kim to think up ways to boost the amount of people signed up to participate.
She ends up resorting to promising free drinks to anyone who can beat a gloved up Mick in the ring.
But Mick is nervous by the gauntlet Kim has thrown down and asks Janine to make sure that he fights the weakest person - only for this plan to backfire when a bruiser called Teddy is chosen.
Just as Mick prepares to put on his gloves and take to the ring to face off with Teddy, he’s served with divorce papers from Linda.
He manages to put the fact that his marriage is one signature away from its end to one side by channelling his anger in the ring.
But Mick’s week goes from bad to worse when police officers arrive to deliver the shocking news that Tina Carter’s body has been found in the Argee Bhajee.
The arrival of divorce papers comes after Mick shocked his friends by befriending a woman with a striking resemblance to Linda at a speed dating event earlier this month.
The Queen Vic landlord sparked up a conversation with the woman as she sipped on a cocktail at the venue, while Patrick (Rudolph Walker), Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and Tom 'Rocky' Cotton (Brian Conley) looked on in shock.
In January, Danny Dyer confirmed he would be leaving the soap after nine years on the BBC show.
He confirmed on his Sorted With The Dyers podcast that he had been thinking about leaving “for a while” but that the door will be left open for his return.
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
