EastEnders is reportedly set to lose a character who packs her bags and drives away from Walford in a taxi on this week’s episodes.
Rainie Cross, who is played by actress Tanya Franks in the BBC soap, will leave Albert Square with baby Roland, The Sun reports.
Rainie's character has been separated from her son after husband Stuart deserted the little one amid a secret battled with post-natal depression battle, leaving the baby with surrogate Bernie.
Rainie was devastated by the move and as Bernie grew tired of caring for the baby she gave Rainie an ultimatum.
Rainie realised she was right and raged at Mitch for Stuart's actions, in spite of his post-natal depression.
Stuart told her she should take Bernie’s deal and leave him to give Roland the home and life that he deserved.
But as Rainie waited surrounded by Callum, Violet, Bernie and Mitch, Stuart was a no show and Rainie got into a taxi with Roland and her bags to leave Walford.
This comes after EastEnders actress Maddy Hill saw her final scenes on the soap aired last week, as her character Nancy Carter decided to leave Walford.
The character previously left EastEnders in 2016 to go travelling with boyfriend Tamwar Masood, before the two got hitched and settled down in New Zealand.
But actress Maddy again decided to leave the BBC soap after returning as Mick and Linda's daughter after nearly five years away from the Square.
As her final scenes on the soap aired, Maddy said: “It’s been great revisiting Nancy and the Square over the past year but it felt like the right time to move on for now.
“I already miss everyone and feel so grateful to work with people I have so much love for.”
Meanwhile a spokesperson for EastEnders said: “We wish Maddy all the very best for the future”.
Maddy is one of several soap stars exiting Walford the year, as Stuart Highway actor Ricky Champ will be exiting the BBC soap after four years, following Tanya’s exit.
He will be joined by Dayle Hudson, who has played Ian Beale's son Peter since 2020.
Dana Monroe actress Barbara Smith will also leave alongside Jada Lennox star Kelsey Calladine-Smith.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
