EastEnders revisits Stacey wedding dresses amid Christmas flashforward clue

EastEnders is set to revisit the mounting wedding dresses on Albert Square, which will seemingly play a major factor in the Christmas storyline teased in a flashforward last month.

The BBC soap teased a shock new Albert Square murder victim in a grisly flashforward scene, in which Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) was seen wearing a wedding dress.

The sensational twist foreshadowed the death of one character – but their identity is under wraps until Christmas.

BBC One soap fans are already aware that Kat and Phil are set to get married at Christmas this year, but it was instead Sharon wearing a wedding dress in the flashforward scene.

New BBC spoilers have now revealed that next week sees the return of the ominous wedding dresses to the screen, which were last seen when Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) took delivery of numerous wedding dresses.

BBC One viewers at home were previously distracted by one wedding dress in particular among Big Mo’s stock, which appeared to be identical to the one Sharon had been wearing during the flashforward episode.

Next week on Albert Square, Stacey is desperate with money woes at desperate levels and Alfie comes up with an idea to raid Big Mo’s stock of wedding dresses.

After Sharon turns down the chance to be Alfie’s glamorous assistant, she suggests Linda would be the perfect fit.

She’s not in the mood, but after watching Alfie crash and burn with some ill-judged banter, Linda can’t resist getting involved.

Stacey is terrified as time ticks down to Shiv’s deadline. Can Alfie make the money she needs in time?

In later scenes, Kathy gets tempted to try on a dress at Alfie’s wedding emporium and likes what she sees.

Rocky is rattled when she tells him she’s got a dress and intends to set a date with Reverend Mills ASAP.

The explosive episode centred around the lives of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, kicking off a major new storyline.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar ( Balvinder Sopal ), Stacey, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Sharon and Kathy Beale's (Gillian Taylforth) lives are set to change forever on the BBC One soap.

EastEnders fans will have to wait until Christmas Day 2023 to find out the identity of the murdered victim, who the murderer was and how it all went down.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
