EastEnders viewers have recalled a scene 12 years ago, that saw Jean Slater predict her granddaughter Lily Slater would be "sweethearts" with Ricky Mitchell - amid their current pregnancy storyline.
While 12 year olds Lily and Ricky are not together, it was shockingly revealed this week that Lily was pregnant after sleeping with him.
In a recent episode, Lily told her mum Stacey Slater and grandmother Jean that Ricky Jr was the father of her baby, after they had sex.
She revealed they had only slept together once and were not together, while Ricky currently has no idea about Lily being pregnant.
Amid the storyline shocking viewers and leaving some convinced Ricky isn't really the father, others have recalled a past scene from 2010 that hinted at what was ahead.
In the scene, Jean is introduced to Sam Mitchell's newborn baby son Ricky while Stacey is beside them, carrying baby Lily.
As Sam's mum Peggy Mitchell proudly beams as she shows off her grandson, Jean smiles before making a comment about their futures.
Peggy says to Jean and Stacey: "Oh you could make it - and you've brought the little one with you! Oh she's a pretty little thing, isn't she?"
Jean then tells her: "You never know, your grandson and our Lily might become sweethearts one day. Imagine that? Another Slater and Mitchell wedding."
Peggy says back: "There's no harm in dreaming, is there?"
The clip has left viewers stunned, realising Jean's harmless comment over 12 years ago has now "come true", while this isn't really the case.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Ee jean saying about Ricky jr and Lily being sweethearts when they are older fast forward to 12 years old and he gets her pregnant."
Another said: "Maybe that's why they've made Ricky the dad, as a nod to what Jean said all those years ago..."
A third fan wrote: "Jean predicted Lily and Ricky back in 2010!" as another said: "Pls did Jean sort of predict the future."
While it's not a prediction as such, as Lily and Ricky are not together, fans still thought it was a weird link to the past.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
