EastEnders star Michael Greco has revealed that a TV comeback is in the works after landing a role in a big new Netflix drama.
The 51-year-old, best known for playing Beppe di Marco in the BBC soap, previously teased that he had a new job earlier this month.
Taking to Instagram, Michael announced the news of his new role to his 52,000 followers.
He wrote on Insta Stories: "Don't often post about work but just been offered a great role in a new Netflix drama. Can tell you how happy I am... Great start to 2022!"
It comes after Michael posed in front of a green screen at the beginning of March in a charcoal grey three-piece suit.
He wrote: "Good to be working on some green screen fun. #lovemyjob."
Friends and fans took to the comments, with Hollyoaks actress Natalie Anderson writing: "Why are you not getting any older!!!"
Another fan agreed, writing: "You look amazing you literally have not aged."
A third wrote: "Sharp dressed man !!"
Michael appeared in EastEnders from 1998 until 2002, during which his character Beppe was involved in a number of big storylines, from his tumultuous romance with Tiffany Mitchell (Martine McCutcheon) to his feud with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).
Beppe eventually left Walford after his mother suffered a heart attack and died. After selling the club to Phil and Sharon, he moved to Leicester to be with the rest of his family.
Last year, Michael welcomed his first child with girlfriend Helen Harris.
Michael posted a photo of his baby son in his hospital crib and announced that he has been named Gianluca Greco.
He said that little Gianluca had been born six weeks early.
Gianluca, whose name is Italian and means gift of god, is currently being treated in ICU at Great Ormond Street Hospital
"My boy," the TV star wrote alongside three blue love heart emojis. "Gianluca Greco. Born July 1st 2021. Weighing 4.47lbs.
"The little man was born prematurely due to the fact that previous scans had failed to pick up his rare birth defect called Gastroschisis."
Gastroschisis is when the intestines are found outside of the baby's body, and other organs, such as the stomach and liver, can also be affected.
Michael continued: "The consultant suggested it was best for him to born early so that he could get the necessary care and attention.
"He was born at University College of London Hospital @uclh. Their staff were extremely professional and Mother and Baby could not have been in better hands.
"Dad was a 'tad' emotional to say the least!
"Baby has already had his first operation to replace his bowel where it should belong and is under the world's best care of @greatormondst where he will be in ICU for a while and most probably for up to 6 weeks.
"My heart is full already and this is by far the best day of my life.
"I love you Gianluca more than I can ever imagine."
