EastEnders’ Lorraine Stanley posts snap with lookalike sister as fans brand them 'twins'

EastEnders actress Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor, posted a smiley picture with her lookalike sister on Instagram that had fans wondering if they were twins.

Lorraine, 44, posted a photo with sister Donna, 40, as they threw up peace signs at home, Lorraine looking worlds away from her character on the Square with her hair in blonde curls.

She captioned the photo: "Skin and blister @dstanley80 ... @ love love love" with love heart and peace sign emojis.

One follower replied: "Why does she look more like Karen Taylor than u do".

Another added: "You two are twins!!" while a third wrote: "Aww you look so alike".

"Wow, are you twins?" asked a fourth, as a fifth added: "Spitting image of each other".

Back in 2004, Lorraine made her debut appearance on EastEnders in a special episode that told the story of Laila Morse's character Big Mo's feud with Pat Butcher - played by Pam St Clement.

Some fans of EastEnders will be surprised to find out that Lorraine was cast in the instalment that went back in time, before she was cast as Karen.

In 2004 Lorraine appeared in a special episode of the soap and portrayed a young Big Mo (BBC)

The episode showed a series of flashbacks that saw the two iconic character in their younger days.

In one scene, Lorraine was seen playing the part of a younger Big Mo - who married Pat's brother Jimmy - alongside Emma Cooke taking up the role of a youthful Pat.

Lorraine looked totally different in an over the top wedding dress with her hair in an up-do that featured a short fringe across her forehead.

The clips prove that Lorraine is able to transform for any role as she pulled off a chic style worlds away from the usually scruffy character she dons as busy mum Karen on Albert Square.

Lorraine's character Karen is known for her unkempt hair and scruffy clothes but is a far cry from her on-screen persona on social media.
