EastEnders aired some heartbreaking scenes this evening - as Linda Carter was dealt new heartbreak with some Janine news.
Linda has been struggling since Christmas after losing her husband Mick, when Danny Dyer exited the soap in huge scenes that aired on Christmas Day. Mick disappeared after jumping into the sea to save his partner Janine as well as his ex Linda.
We do not know if he is dead or if he has just disappeared - and could actually be alive and well somewhere, but there was fresh heartbreak on the BBC soap tonight as Linda was given some news about Janine.
Alfie came to see her in the back of the pub, where he told her he would be happy to talk about things if she wanted - but also understood if she didn't and was happy to support her in whichever way was best.
He said there was "no justice" after hearing that Janine had got five years for her part in everything that had happened, with Linda clearly heartbroken and struggling by what has been going on.
"Five years, she’ll be out in three," Linda said, "I’ve got the rest of my life imprisoned without Mick."
Alfie offered to get someone to look after the kids if she needed some space, as she replied: "All I’ve got is space, and pain. I wake up every morning with it. I’m sick of just getting through the day Alfie. I hate to say it, but do you know who I envy? Billy and Jay - they know Lola’s dying, they’ve got time to say their goodbyes. I never got the chance."
Viewers were heartbroken for Linda, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
"Poor linda my heart is breaking for her #EastEnders," one wrote, as a second added: "Poor Linda is struggling with mick gone."
A third shared: "Linda is so consumed by her grief for Mick #EastEnders."
Some new owners are coming in to take ownership of the Queen Vic, including a familiar face. The show's executive producer Chris Clenshaw teased recently: "There is a question mark over the future of The Vic at the moment.
"Kellie knows what’s happening and we know what’s happening with the Vic. It’s very exciting."
