EastEnders acting legend Dean Gaffney has confirmed he is set to make a comeback after four years, alongside Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona.
As Sonia Fowler’s dopey brother Robbie Jackson in the long-running BBC soap, Dean, 45, hasn’t been seen on screens since his character left Albert Square to be with his son Sami and ex-partner, Nita, in Mumbai, India.
But now fans looking for a hit of EastEnders nostalgia can see Dean in action again as he’s revealed he’s set to star in a new pantomime this April.
Playing the Prince in a production of Rapunzel, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant will take part in the production alongside Atomic Kitten member and OnlyFans entrepreneur Kerry, 42.
The mum-of-five will play Mother Gothel in the show, which will be loosely based on Disney’s version of the fairytale, Tangled.
Sharing the exciting news with his followers on Instagram, he wrote: "Panto at Easter, who'd of thought it!"
Dean and Kerry will be joined by more famous faces as they tread the boards including Strictly Come Dancing's Joanne Clifton as Rapunzel and BGT star Jamie and his puppet Chuck as the Court Jesters.
The new hair-larious Easter pantomime will tour venues around the UK including the Prince's Theatre, Clacton-On-Sea, Blackpool Winter Gardens and Darlington Hippodrome.
Dean has stayed relatively out of the limelight since his departure from Walford in 2019.
He recently starred in the E4 reality TV series Celebs Go Dating in 2020, where he admitted that he was struggling to find love, complaining that it gets "harder when you're older" to commit to the dating scene.
The dad-of-twin daughters, and recent granddad, the actor split from the mother of his children Sarah Burge in 2015 after 22 years together.
During his stint on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Dean admitted to fellow contestant David Gest that he’d once had an affair.
